Hello! Apologies for the delay of this post; yours truly (I) have had limited computer internet access in the past several weeks. Excuses aside, here is the beta claiming post.

Claiming is OPEN.

HOW TO CLAIM:
- List the top 2 fic you would like to beta the most, and you will be assigned to one or the other.
- This is on a first come, first serve basis.
- Claimed fic will be marked.
- There will be lag for this post's updates on which fic are claimed and which aren't (but, as there are not many fic, it shouldn't take long.)
- Please choose wisely; you cannot change after you have submitted your comment.
- We will email you your assignment, and your author's username and contact info as soon as we have an assignment per your claim.

Though it's been over five years since the movie came out, there are some things we just can't get over. So for anyone still out there, still invested, or just wants an excuse to work on something for the next twenty weeks or so, welcome to:

  • Subsequent check-ins are all mandatory.
  • All works will eventually be posted by their creators to a posting schedule once all final drafts are submitted.

This is it. The beginning of the end, the last informative mod post of TSN BB Round 5, containing posting information and the posting schedule. As always, if you have any problems or questions, ask ahead, and if you can't find your name on the schedule, or not often enough / in the right place, or notice anything else out of place, please contact us.

After this, I will cease the floor to you and let you post the fruits of your labor, and, just in case I forget to do so after the Bang, I'd like to take the opportunity to say a quick thank-you everybody who has been participating in this round, be it as an artist, author, or beta. Doing a Big Bang is not easy, it takes dedication, endurance, and love (or, in our fandom, so much pain) to stick with a months-long obligation through whatever complications life throws at you, and you can all be proud of yourselves.

Ahem. Now, on to what you are actually reading this post for.

Posting information:

Posting will begin on Monday. You are responsible for posting your work. On your assigned posting date (no timezone restrictions, post whenever you like), one of your author/artist(s) team, usually the author, will create a masterpost for your collaboration and post it to the comm. This masterpost will contain links to the fic and art, wherever they are posted (please make sure they are not locked). If part of your collaboration isn't yet online at the time the masterpost is made, those links can be added later. We ask that you do not crosspost to any other community until the initial posting period is over, after that you may promote your work anywhere you want.

For the masterpost, please use the following template:

      Title:
      Fandom:
      Rating:
      Pairing(s):
      Warnings:
      Word Count:
      Summary:

      Fanart:
[link to fanart] by [LJ USER]

      Fanmix:
[link to fanmix] by [LJ USER]

In addition, we will be posting links to fic along with at least one piece of art to the BB's tumblr (with proper credit, of course). If this is something you do not want us to do, let us know now.

Posting ScheduleCollapse )

28 August 2014 @ 10:44 pm
Due to too many people struggling to finish in time and asking for late posting dates, we are hereby postponing everything by a week.

The new deadline for draft submission is Friday, September 5th, 11:59 pm CET (you can keep track of the current time in Central Europe here). The posting schedule will be put up on Saturday. Posting will start on Monday, September 8th, and run until presumably October 2nd, with posting every three days.

If you have not yet sent your draft(s) to tsnbigbang2012 @ gmail dot com, please do so before the end of the submission deadline. If you do not send in your draft by September 5th, 11:59 pm CET, you will not be assigned a posting date. If this new schedule changes or adds to your posting restrictions, please let us know by that same date.

We hope this extension will take some of the pressure off your shoulders, and let those of you who have been struggling finish their work. Please note though, while we try to be accommodating and considerate, and do understand RL commitments and complications, this extension is also a labour of frustration, and if you fail to make the new deadline, there won't be any more grace periods.

Deadlines and posting pushed back a week! I think I caught all dates that needed editing (if it doesn't follow a crossed-out date, it's not current), but, to be safe, consult the post announcing the push-back here.

Hi everybody,

We are coming up on the highlight of this Big Bang - posting. Posting will start on Monday, September 1st, and run until September 25th 8th to October 2nd, with posts every two to three days. First, though, the time has come for the last check-in and draft submission.

Check-in and submission are mandatory for all authors and artists, and will run until Friday, August 29th September 5th, at 11.59pm CET (you can keep track of the current time in Central Europe here).

To check in, you will need to comment on this post, using the comment template below. If you don't fill out the check-in, we'll assume you have no posting restrictions and assign you a random posting date.

To submit your draft, send us a copy of your final draft attached to an email to tsnbigbang2012 @ gmail dot com. These drafts do not have to be complete (though they should be near completion at this point), but we need them to see that you have been working on your fic/art and will be able to make your posting date. Once we receive your draft, we'll send you a confirmation email within 24 hours (if you don't receive this email, please try re-sending your draft and/or contact us). In what shape or form artists send in their drafts is up to their discretion, since it depends on what kind of art they are creating. If we don't receive a draft from you, we won't assign you a posting date.

You can check in and send in your drafts at any point until Friday. If you'd rather not comment right away, don't worry, we'll send out email reminders. Don't hold off for too long, though, because the longer you wait the less of a cushion you have should something come up.

We'll compose the posting schedule on Saturday, August 30th September 6th, and put it up and send out emails as soon as it's done. The schedule post will also contain a sample header and further posting information.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact us at tsnbigbang2012 @ gmail dot com, and we'll try to help.

Again, check-in and submission will run until Friday, August 29th September 5th, at 11.59pm CET (you can keep see the current time in Central Europe here). Please keep track of time.

Claiming is closed!

Fic is now open for secondary claiming, i.e. can be claimed more than once!

You may claim more than one fic now, but please make sure to tell me in your comment if you only want to claim the first available fic of your three picks, or more than one (and how many).

This post is currently open for claiming. Claiming will run from 00.01 a.m. C.E.T. Sunday to 11.59 p.m. C.E.T. Monday. You can keep track of the current time in Central Europe here.

Welcome, artists, your time has finally come! Before you can lay claim to a fic (or more than one), please read the following instructions carefully.

- This post will go up for preview before claiming starts, so you can browse and think about your options in peace. Claiming will start at 00.01 a.m. C.E.T. on Sunday. Even if you've already made your decision by then, please check the bottom of the list again, as possible stragglers will be added there.
- You claim a fic by leaving a comment listing the top three stories that you most would like to create art for, and will then be assigned the first story available from your top three. I'll confirm claims in the comments and edit the claims post to mark fic as claimed. There is due to be a lag while I am busy confirming the first claims and editing, respectively won't be online constantly for the claiming period, so take care to check the other comments, too.
- Fic claims are on a first come, first serve basis. The time-stamp of your comment will be used for this - please note that editing comments messes with their timestamps, so if you made a mistake in your comment, you might want to reply to it instead of editing to correct it, to avoid getting bumped back in the line of claims.
- If you won't be able to claim for yourself, you can appoint a proxy to claim for you. Please send us an email beforehand, so we know that your proxy is authorized to claim in your name, and ask them to preface their comment with 'Claims list of [your username] for easier assignment.
- Please choose wisely, there will be no take-backs.
- To begin with, you can only claim fic that hasn't previously been claimed. Once all fics have been claimed once, you may claim on previously claimed fics. I'll also declare secondary claiming at the top of the page. Since we only have a short list of fics this round, this should happen fairly quickly, and once it does, any fic can be claimed as often as wanted.
- You may claim more than one fic, and we encourage you to, but, as not every artist can be online when claiming opens, please hold off on claiming more than one fic until every fic has been claimed once, or until 02.00 a.m. C.E.T., whichever happens first.
- Claiming will close on Monday, at 11.59 p.m. C.E.T.
- Within 24 hours after claiming closes, you will receive an email with your author(s) contact information, and they one with yours, and it will be up to you to get in touch, receive your draft from them, and decide on how you want to handle your collaboration.

Now, without further ado:

Fic listCollapse )

Hello authors,

it's time for the second check-in! Actually the time started yesterday already, hopefully the fact that the check-in post is going up late doesn't inconvenience anyone!

You check-in by first Commenting on this post with a filled out version of this:

Still in?:
How far along are you?:
Anything we should know?:
Are things okay with your beta?:
Express yourself:

and then sending us a rough draft (8k or more, including a header) via email (tsnbigbang2012 at gmail dot com). If we do not receive a draft from you, we'll assume you have defaulted out of the Big Bang. The Mail should contain a draft, your username, your title, pairing, rating, summary, and any warnings you feel your fic needs. This is important for the artist claims. If you still don't have a title, that's fine, but please be as clear as possible about the content of your story so that the artists know what they're claiming.

Both parts of this check-in are mandatory.
If you have decided to drop out, we'd appreciate it if you could send us a quick line so we know for sure and won't try to contact you to remind you of this check-in.

This is, still a chance to tell us if a problem came up, if we can help you with anything, if the beta you had abandoned you and you need a pitch hitter, etc etc etc.

This check-in will be open until Friday, August 1st, 11:59 pm C.E.T., and you can check in at any time until then.

Artist claims will begin on August 3rd so it is absolutely important that you check in on time!

07 June 2014 @ 11:52 pm
Hi authors, it's already time for your first check-in! Checking in by filling out the below template in a comment is mandatory, which means we need to hear from you, or we'll assume you have dropped out. (If you have decided to drop out, we'd still appreciate it if you could send us a quick line so we know for sure and won't try to contact you to remind you of this check-in.) Still, it's just a check-in, not a draft submission, and all we need is a general heads-up. Let us know how you are doing! This is your chance to tell us if something is bothering you, if we can help you with anything, if the beta you had abandoned you and you need a pitch hitter, etc etc etc.

This check-in will be open until Saturday, June 14th, 11:59 pm C.E.T., and you can check in at any time until then.

You can of course always contact us at tsnbigbang2012 at gmail dot com with questions or problems, check-in or not.

Welcome to Round 5, everybody!

Sign-ups for Round 5 are closed, and we've sent out confirmation (or, where needed, clarification) emails to everyone.

If you haven't received an email from us (or more than one, if you have signed up as e.g. author and artist), check your spam folder. If you still don't see an email from us, please contact us at tsnbigbang2012 at gmail dot com, and we'll figure out what went wrong.

- CLOSED -

If you want to be a beta, please first read the FAQ, check out the schedule, and then sign up leaving a comment here. Note that the bulk of a beta's work will take place towards the end of the Bang and it's possible your author(s) won't send you a draft before August. Sign-ups will be open until Saturday, May 10th, 11.59 pm CET.

Please use the below form for your sign-up. In case you are not comfortable posting your email address here for all to see, leave that field blank and additionally send a copy of your comment to us via said email address.

If you have any questions, please first consult the FAQ and schedule, and, if those can't help you, send us an email at tsnbigbang2012 at gmail dot com, and we'll try to get back to you within 24 hours. Please don't ask questions in comments, as those can be auto-marked as spam and easily overlooked.

You'll receive an email with your assigned author(s) in the days after sign-ups close. If you ever have any problems (establishing contact or interacting with your author, their fic going into a direction you are not comfortable with, etc), don't hesitate to email us. We are here to help, and we'll do everything we can to try and make this new round of the TSN Big Bang a positive experience for everybody.

Have fun, and welcome to Round 5!
